A Review of SchoolhouseTeachers.com

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine has been a wonderful resource of information and inspiration for homeschoolers for years. It is no surprise that they would create SchoolhouseTeachers.com, the answer to my planning prayers! Whether you're looking for an alternative to purchasing curriculum or you're wanting to extend your current curriculum, you are sure to find what you need.

For only $5.95 a month, you will have access to resources created by some of the most respected names in the homeschool community. There are over 25 subjects including all the basics plus things like film making, French, Spanish, guitar, voice, mock trials, economics, lapbooks and media socialization. You can find daily math, grammar and writing as well as everyday copy work. You will also find arts and crafts lesson, lesson archives and a library stocked full of e-books. If you are not a lover of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine yet, you will be when you receive your copy in you inbox each month. Yep, that's included too!

We have been using SchoolhouseTeachers.com for about a month now. I was very impressed that the writing lessons we used came from WriteShop curriculum. My kids had a great time working through the pages that helped them with developing the setting of a story. My second grader worked right along my fourth grader and they did fabulous! We have also used the guitar lessons. My son takes guitar lessons on the weekends, but he supplements with the guitar lessons found at SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Again, I am just floored at the quality AND quantity of the information and activities this site has for you.

If you read my blog frequently, you know that I am a planner and organizer. When I say that SchoolhouseTeachers.comhttp://schoolhouseteachers.com/dap/a/?a=19163 also came with all 5 Schoolhouse planners, I was over the moon. And if that's not enough, each month there is a course checklist to help keep you and your child on track. When you take a look at this list, you get an idea of all that is offered in just that month! It is easy to see how this site could become your entire curriculum.

If you are on the lookout for something new, I urge you to check out SchoolhouseTeachers.com. With 3 kids, I am happy to have found something that fits into our budget and doesn't charge an additional amount for each child. I feel like I hit the jackpot.
