A Little Fun With Spelling

Spelling seems to be a dreaded subject for some homeschool parents, even though most agree on its importance.  We are so blessed to have so many choices when it comes to spelling curriculum, but it can also be overwhelming.
No matter what curriculum you choose, you can always jazz it up with some non-worksheet activities.

ABC order
Sidewalk chalk
Bath crayons
Window markers on the window or bathroom mirror
Use words in a comic strip
Rainbow words (write words in ROYGBIV order)
Make a word scramble, let Mom find the words
Handwriting practice
Type words
Make a collage of the words using magazines
Put words in order, shortest to longest
Sort words by number of syllables
Write silly sentences using the words
Make flash cards
